The McGovern Neurosurgery Lab at the University of Minnesota - Medical School is looking for eager, driven, and talented researchers, programmers, and med-school bound students like you to lend a hand for real life changing work and experience. The work you do may directly impact and contribute to research results, and how we are able to treat patients in the clinical setting.

With collaboration with the Minneapolis VA (Veteran Affairs ) Health Care Clinic, the University of Minnesota -Medical School’s Neurosurgery Department, and M Health Fairview, the McGovern Neurosurgery Lab has access to extensive resources, support, and resume-building clinical experience opportunities.

The McGovern Neurosurgery Lab utilizes data mining and analysis; motion tracking and sensor input data; hands on data collection from patient participants; patient interaction; administrative writing prep for study protocols, IRB review, research funding, and more; and a commitment to patient and participant care.

If you have a background in the computer sciences with an interest in health or research or background in neuroscience, neurology, neurosurgery, or a related field, and you have career aspirations in research or medicine, we highly encourage you to apply.

Your experience with the McGovern Neurosurgery Lab will provide a diverse and extensive experience in a clinical research setting for the the advancement in projects in (medically refractive) Epilepsy, Deep Brain Stimulation

Paid Positions include:

Clinical Research Coordinator (Full-time)

Volunteers may:

Gain valuable first-hand understanding of the Clinical Research Process to build their resume or medical school application
Assist in app development, script writing, or data analysis
Administrative writing support
Shadow Team Members including Dr. McGovern, clinical research coordinators, and research analysts for on the job experience
